SENSATIONAL BASS TOSS
All new material has been inspired by the """"fake forest""""" in this video.
Menacing but funny ya know??
Here in the studio we have had a blast load of sensational bass tosses coming out of the speakers. I got this Thunderbird and been playing some serious grumbling shit. Terrifying really. Started getting a farm of guitars again because the synths broke. Probably for the better. Recording like 2 songs a day. It's interesting recording a record while the industry is trippin balls. I think I'm dumb or maybe just happy.
Employing my services to AS220 has been cute and innovative so far. This band RESISTANT CULTURE headlined the other night and had a banner that said """TURTLE ISLAND TRIBAL GRIND"""" on it. The singer had a flute and told me to put some flavor on it(apparently DELAY!).
Tio Abbott has returned to the Northeast but cannot be reached for comment???? More soon on that

A NITE WITH THE SHAMAN
I spent the last few hours with my old friend N. NITE THE SHAMAN. Wise to some, photo wizard to all. We finger plucked our way through a backdrop of some kind of David Lynch set that has yet to exist. The african rattle images didn't make the cut although the concept was there. Coyotes were straight up HOWLING. I grabbed my guitar and ran from random shufflings in the bushes on more than at least 2 occasions. Truly wild.

Beard Staff
I was away from this thing for a good long time. Not even sure why really. Sold out for myspace blogger I guess. So anyway I'm gonna start updating this here regularly starting...now.
Looking back to what the last entry was I guess alots been going on or the cogs have been in the works on alot to BE going on. I took forever to finish the full length. Like FOREVER. The whole first year or two of doing this whole thing finishing a record was not even a priority of mine. The idea was to get out the 12" single thingy and play live until my face turned purple. Well my face turned purple. So eventually the thing was completed, picked out some 11 or so songs that were relevant to each other within the time frame and voila. Burned Up, Bred High. In the process of being released by Tim O'Keefes COZY imprint. As distribution takes a while I ended up zoning out and beginning LP 2 with my right hand man John Denver...I want to finish a body of work in a tiny amount of time on the next ish. One of the mixes is actually blasting back in my face right now. Changed up the approach almost entirely. Sounds like Dennis Wilson in 2028 over a detailed backdrop of jangly delayed out insanity. But let's not get ahead of ourselves here.
Track list for Burned Up, Bred High is:
1. Hustler
2. Faith, Faith, Faith
3. The Bloods
4. Secret
5. Free Jail
6. Widows
7. Eerie Indiana
8. Pepper Keenan
9. William Vanity
10. Burned Up, Bred High
11. Tall Club
In the meantime been making some extra scratch with doing the BLOOD MONEY party over at Local 121 in the old Dreyfus Hotel. Third Thursday of every month usually. Music typically entails Shoegazer, Rap, Early 70's California Coke Rock, Indie Anthemz, whatever really. 121 Washington St and FREE. Also will be keeping busy as the newest member of the beard staff over at AS220 where I can be found in the sound tower doing the sounds. HOLLA.

HUSTLER. GOLD.

The Hustler 12" single dropped January 28th via the Luminal imprint! This is the first official Spanish release. The single off the upcoming record Burned Up, Bred High. 200 pressed on clear gold vinyl, 100 pressed on black. You can order it here.
Press release sayz:
Finally, finally, finally Providence's avante pop juggernaut Spanish Dancer drops his debut single Hustler via the Luminal imprint on glorious 12" gold vinyl and what a motherfucker it is. Either by way of live spectacle or blog dudes running their mouth or both, kids freaked out when Hustler's beat dropped at gigs, and they knew the words verbatim like it was off a best of joint or something and it hadn't even been recorded properly yet let alone slated for release. The fuzzed out bassed out champagne disco alt mega groover already nabbed Spanish press comparisons from Prince to Suicide to JT although the general consensus seems to be that he is on some "other shit" altogether. Remixes from Trouble & Bass' The Captain, Mike Hoska, and Omaha's The Show Is The Rainbow are all here as well along with the B-side Break Bread, Move Grams, Keep It Basic. Off the upcoming Spanish Dancer long player Burned Up, Bred High, slated for a mid-2008 release.
